Amazing Rare Vintage 1920's Dayton Flyer Early Metal Tennis Racket - Wire String For SaleFor Sale Amazing Rare Vintage 1920's Dayton Flyer Early Metal Tennis Racket - Piano Wire Strings
NEW PRICE!!! I NOW HAVE 2 OF THESE. THE LAST 3 PICTURES ARE OF THE 2ND ONE. THEY ARE OF A SIMILAR CONDITION, VERY.
This is the coolest racket I have handled. And if you follow my sales you know that I have handled a few.
Dayton Tennis Rackets were one of the earliest, if not the earliest, manufacturers to use metal frames. It's bent tubular metal. Rolled IRON. Massively cool
This example has wear, but overall i would say this is in excellent vintage condition
- Not bent or twisted- Paint loss appropriate with use, but label is there and legible- All the threading is there and complete- Strings are complete, original, and tight- Has the end cap- No grip
The shape of the head is slightly oblong
This is a hard item to price. I have seen them for quite a bit of $$, and none appear to be in as nice condition as this one. I am asking what I think is fair.
Regardless, this is one cool, rare, important piece of tennis history. If you buy this you will NOT be disappointed. It's just a great item
