American Chicle Company Lgb 10k Gf 15 Year Service Pin Chicklets Gum Balfour Vtg:
You're offerding on a vintage 15 Year Service Lapel Pin which was awarded to an employee of the American Chicle Company. I believe this pin is considered rare. There is some tarnish on the back. The back is marked LGB 1/10 10K GF. It is a screw back type lapel pin and the other portion has teeth on it. I think that may be brass as it has some green tarnish on it.
LGB stands for the L.G. Balfour Co. which was founded by Lloyd Garfield Balfour in the early 1900's. They still operate today under the name Balfour. It's in its original plastic presentation box. I don't know what the M means on the felt piece its sitting on. The case needs to be cleaned and there is some wear to the felt where you can see the round impression of the lapel pin underneath where it sits.
American Chicle produced Chicklets, Dentyne, Trident among other types of gum. Their Long Island City factory closed in 1981 but I believe it still exists. They originally incorporated in 1899 in New Jersey.
Please see picture for condition. Feel free to ask questions prior to offerding. Payment due within 3 days of winning offer.
This would be a great addition to anyones collection . Gum, Candy, Advertising, Pins etc.
