Frank Edward Zuccarelli (1922 - 2012).

Titled, signed, and dated on the reverse: "White Boat" - August 1970.
Mounted in a very fine dark oak handmade, signed custom Arts and Crafts contemporary frame. SIZE:
Painting - 9" x 12"
Frame - 17.25" x 14.25" A very fine American Impressionist coastal view landscape in oil. This painting by Frank Zuccarelli probably depicts a scene on the central New Jersey coast, although the location is not noted on the work itself. He also painted extensively in New England and the Mid Atlantic states, however it is likely a scene of the New Jersey coast.
This painting features a fine composition and the brushwork is very careful and somewhere between impressionism and realism. The paint covers the entire surface of the work. The colors are quite beautiful. The subject matter is very American and reminds me of the type of thing Edward Hopper was known for, almost turning a landscape into a still life.
Frank Zuccarelli was a very good painter and this is a good example of his middle-period work.
This painting is in excellent original condition. It could use a light cleaning, but displays nicely just as it is in the mean time..
The frame is in excellent condition with no damage or wear. It is a high quality contemporary Arts and Crafts oak frame, not original to the painting and was added recently. The frame is signed with a label, but I don't know who the maker is. It displays the painting beautifully.
