SOLOC Historical Booklet, published by the Special and Information Section, Southern Line of Communications, European Theater of Operations, Unigted States Army, printed in Dijon, France. Soft cover, 32 pages, illustrated. See scale for size.

From a scrapbook belonging to Francis P. Truhart (31006012). Truhart was initially assigned to the 181st Military Police Co, which was redesignated Co B, 400th Military Police Battalion. His unit was assigned to to Military Railway Service, Allied Force in France (1944-1945) Truhart served in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany.

The following quote regarding the history of the 400th Military Police Battalion is from:

"Constituted 19 NOV 1944 in the Army of the United States as 400th Military Police Battalion (less Companies A and B). Activated 20 NOV 1944 in France with new companies except for company A redesignated from 181st Military Police Company (activated 20 JUN 1943 in Algeria) and Company B redesignated from 185th Military Police Company (activated 26 JUL 1943 in Algeria). Inactivated 9 APR 1946 at Camp Kilmer, NJ."
