This is for an antique Indian carved ox bone figurine of the deity Ganesh, 19th century (c.1801-1900).
Made of ox bone, finely carved as Ganesh, identified by his elephants head, this deity is revered as the remover of obstacles, and is depicted here standing, his four arms holding attributes, wearing a crown, a long robe and beaded necklaces, on a circular lotus leaf decorated support. The condition is generally excellent, the ox bone has a lightly yellowed hue, which is the patina of age. Please see images.
