Hindu India - dating from the 18th/19th century.
Cast using the \'lost wax\' process, the lamp incorporates unusual elements of symbology - not generally found with lamps of the Deepalakshmiform.
The shaped oil reservoir incorporates a \' V\' form projection, allowing a wick to be located. The pierced integral back-plate is finished with a sawtooth edge, pellets and a central vertical ridge.
Three cast bosses embellish the upper most extreme of the back-plate. A similar pair of bosses are cast at the well rim.Overall height - 6\" (152mm).
Weight - 315 grams.
Condition - Very Good. Minor bumps and bruises, (consistent with genuine age and usage). No repairs. Fine natural colour and patina.
