An Extremely Rare Dutch Delft Tile, Early-mid 17th Century Depicting A Monk For Sale
An extremely rare Dutch Delft tile, early-mid 17th century well painted with the image of a monk, wearing spectacles and holding a rosary. This is an exceptional tile in that it is a Catholic image produced in what was by then Protestant state. My friend has not found a similar tile in any of the major reference works. It is also very well painted. It therefore represents a tremendous acquisition for a collector of Dutch tiles.
