Ancient Egyptian King Tutankhamun 'the Living Image Of Amun' Silver Pendant:
A Lovely Tutankhamun 'the Lucky Boy King' Silver Pendant inlaid with Turquoise.Turquoise is known as 'the Stone of Abundance'.Weight: 8.5gmsSize: 1.5" (l) x 1.00"(w)The young king took office at the age of eight. Amenhotep IV or Akhenaton is believed to be his father.Until the second part of his reign he kept his birth name - Tutankhaton. After that he changed his name to Tutankamun - which means the 'living image of Amun'.During his reign many monumental structures were erected, restoration work was accomplised and unfinished projects were completed. For this reason the name Tutankhamun is associated with perfection, harmony and beauty. His character was described with the following additional names: 'Strong Bull with Full Birth'; 'He who Calms the Two Lands with Perfect Laws'; and 'He who Pacifies the Gods'.After the king died unexpectedly early he was quickly buried in a non-royal grave in the Valley of the Kings. The historical importance of the child king, who only lived to eighteen years, is generally classified as slight. It is, however, due to the excavation of his tomb by Howard Carter and the wonderful items found therein that Tutankhamun became so famous.Should you have any questions and/or queries do please contact me and I will gladly reply.Thank you for looking.
