A superb, well preservedancient PersianBronze Agebattle sword, dating to approximately 1200 - 800 B.C.

This magnificent ancient weapon has along, elegant, triangular blade, prominant central mid ribandcrescented hilt, recessed to hold bone or wooden inlays in antiquity, now long since perished.

The piece is not significantly deformed, in contrast to the majority of weapons of this type now available on the market.

Thissword would originally have formed part of the burial contents of a wealthy Persian Warrior. The Bronze Age peoples of ancient Persia, were a warrior-society who were expert metal-workers.

Length of weapon:14 3/4inches.

Condition: Unrestored.Beautiful patina. This piece is in excellent condition and not to be confused with other, heavily restored, examples which may be found on the market.
