The blade is of triangular form withslender blade andsquare sided tang, designed for insertion into a wooden pole in antiquity, now long since perished.
Thisweapon would originally formed part of the burial contents of a wealthyPersian Warrior. The Bronze Age Peoples of ancient Persia were a warrior-society who were expert metal-workers. GenuinePersian weapons such as this are some of the best value pieces on today's art market.
