This book is in good shape. This is a very rare 1st edition Dr. Seuss book, the first children\'sbook ever written by the author. On the cover, the boy is wearing white shorts instead of blue, indicative of 1st printings. Unfortunately the dust jacket is not present. This book has moderate wear, the paper spine is torn but is present (typical of these books) and binding is together and not loose. The corners are worn, as well as some of the edges. The covers are in good shape, there is a small stain on the lower edge of the back cover (pictured). The pages are in good shape with minor wear from use, no tears or folds. This book has no crayon marks or pages with images scribbled out with pencil, I was able to find one very light pen mark on a page (pictured), with a lighter one on another. Dated 1937. This rare book is perfect for any serious book collector and looks great for 80 years old. More info or pictures available on request.
