Ansonia \"La Seine\" Royal Bonn Mantel Clock, Overhauled & Restored in great shape:
$225.00

Beautiful Ansonia \"La Seine\" Royal Bonn Porcelain Mantel ClockBeing offered for your consideration is this beautifully painted and finished Ansonia LaSeine Mantel Clock constructed of some of their finest porcelain bearing Franz Anton Mehlem\'s Royal Bonn trademark The LaSeine is circa 1915 and can be found in noted authority Tran Duy Ly\'s book \"Ansonia Clocks and Watches\". As you can see, this lovely example is mainly various greens with blues and yellows along with gilt accents. It was hand painted withRoses and Blue Flowers with Leaves and Vines in dark reds, blues, pinks, greens and whites that are very pleasing to the eye. The La Seine is a nice size for a porcelain clock. It measures11 1/2 inches tall by9 1/2 inches wideand 5 1/2inches deep. It woulddisplay verywell on a mantel, a large steady shelf or table or other solid furniture. This clock has been well maintained and is in very good good condition. It is mostly original with the exception of the Paper Dial (Ansonia Reproduction), Sash, Bezel (genuine antique Ansonia Replacements), Glass and Winding Key. The Movement, Gong, Rear Door and Sounding Board are original to the Porcelain Case. The Pendulum is genuine Ansonia appears to be original to the clock. TheAnsonia 8-day Time and Strike movement is in great running condition. It has just been thoroughly cleaned and completely overhauled.Themainspringsare in very good conditionand were thoroughly cleaned, inspected lubricated and tested. Most of thebearings were found to be in great shape.Worn bushingswere replaced where needed. The pivots and pivot holes were resurfaced, polished, burnished and power-pegged.All friction points and mainsprings were lubricated using only the highest quality synthetic oils and grease. It was then electronically tested, adjusted and monitored. It was found to attain and hold a high degree of accuracy of it\'s beat, time and strike rate for it\'s entire one-week winding. However, one must keep in mind that this is a century-old mechanical clock. It can not match the accuracy of modern Quartz Movements. This is not a perfect example. There are someminor \"character\"flaws which are almostinevitable for a genuine, fragile, century-old porcelain antique such as this. In the photos wepoint outthat thereis a very small chip to the top front right edge of the case. The chip measures about 1/8\" by 1/16\" (see photos). You really haveto know where to look to see it. Thick, self-adhesive felt pads have been placed on the feet to help cushion the porcelain case against shock as it is moved from one location to another. Of course these pads also protect whatever finished surface the clock is placed on. You should also note in the photos that there is some slight loss of the gilt decorative highlighting which occurs over time mostly due to handling and cleaning.
