BRONZE PRONGHORN ANTELOPE. This fine bronze casting is a SCALE REDUCTION to 36 percent of an actual pronghorn antelope that was harvested in 1993 in Montana\'s hunting district 630 by Steve Funke, the artist and proprietor of S.R. Funke Co titled \"The Beetle Head\". It was produced by a unique combination of proprietary and technical processes that have been learned over 30 plus years of multidisciplinary casting and modeling experience that exceeded the quality and accuracy typically available through the conventional art casting technique. The accuracy and detail are remarkable! Remove the skull from the base...hold it, turn it, feel and see the texture on the horns! Observe the suture lines on the skull, the detail in the teeth, the fine bone structure that surrounds the eyes! Notice the highly articulated structures that form the underside of the skull and even the sinus structures within the nasal cavity. Realize that, in this case, the art of the object is made possible by the art of the process!!! The skull and horns featured here represent a 15 plus inch horn measured along the length of the beam from the base to the tip of the curl. The heavy beams and pronounced prong are typical of Montana and Wyoming pronghorns where heavy beams and large prongs add big numbers to scores. This model has not been officially scored by Boone and Crockett but the authorities on the subject believe a score in the high 80\'s would be very realistic. As for Steve and his buds, they just call these big guys \"Beetle Heads\" because you know you\'re looking at trophy class when you can see what looks like giant beetle mandibles for horns at 400 yards!! The pronghorn antelope is cast in genuine bronze and measures 5.25 inches wide, 5.5 inches tall and 4 inches deep. The bronze medallion casting of a pronghorn antelope, that was sculpted by the artist, is 1.4 inches in diameter. The mount point for the skull is a rubber covered bronze post that inserts directly into the back of the skull. The beautiful wall or desk mount base is made of Montana Ash wood and has a sculpted wall mount bracket designed to fit a No. 6 screw.
