This is a gorgeous gold-filled or rolled gold plate watch chain, with large delicately etched links. The swivel is stamped “S.O.B.”, for Sidney Osborne Bigney. This Attleboro, Ma. Company was in business in the late 1800's. Attached to the chain are 7 charms/fobs:
An antique Victorian gold-filled Locket stamped CQR (Carter, Quarnstrom, & Remington – Ca.1899), with a tintype of a Victorian lady inside. (Opens and closes from the back by a tiny tab. Stays closed.)
Two small watch fobs, one with a tiny script monogram.
A large antique Victorian carved Bone puffy heart charm, with slight yellowing from age. Has a lovely grain.
Two open-work rose gold-tone Victorian orbs or balls.
One large antique watch fob with marbled sapphire-blue stone (Lapis Lazuli ?) and dainty etching on the gold-tone metal.
The fobs and charms, except for the off white heart, are all either gold-filled or rolled gold plate, are not affected by a magnet, and show no gold loss. Someone tried to open the locket from the front and slightly lifted the edge of the etched top plate. There is a very shallow dent because of it.
This is an authentic antique watch chain bracelet and charms, and in very good condition.
