Antique,ceramic, Transfer Advertised Chemist's Toothpaste Jar Crock Pot Lid For Sale
You are offerding on an antique, ceramic, under-glaze transferred toothpaste container which dates to ca. 1900. The item is in very good condition, especially considering it is over 110 years old. The container was produced for the Calvert Co. and features it's well-known "compass" logo to the center of the lid and it's swirl and floral border surround. The base section is both a good fit and a good color match. The jar measures 2 3/8" in diameter and stands almost 1 1/4" tall when the lid is in place on the base. All round, a delightful little jar which is amazingly neat for it's age. Nice piece for your collection or just to display in your home.FOR VIEWERS WHO MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR WITH THESE
DELIGHTFUL LITTLE JARS....THEY WERE USED BETWEEN APPROX. 1840-1920 TO MARKET
VARIOUS PRODUCTS WHICH CAME IN A PASTE FORM. AFTER WWI THEY BECAME OBSOLETE AS
MORE MODERN AND ECONOMICAL FORMS OF PACKAGING REPLACED
