Antique Wax Over Composition Paper Mache Glass Eye Doll With Cloth Body For Sale
Another wax over antique doll (blue eyed sister in another sale). She is in all-original condition having been neither cleaned or repaired. She has no wig, but the original pate is there, some glue residue remains. She is being sold "as is", needing cleaning and repairs, or for parts. Her head is cracked on her left side and there are some "crows-feet" cracks near her eyes. Her shoulder plate appears to be very good condition. Her body is all original cloth. She has nicely made undies. She's wearing a very old dress with one sleeve in very poor condition, almost detached. One composition hand is good the other has some broken fingers. Both composition feet have damage. The shoe on one has some breakage and the other has the leg broken off above the shoe.
She measures 28" in length. Head circumference measured just above the ears is 11 1/2". Came from an estate where there were indications that her owner married in 1883, so I'm dating her to the 1860s. Please check my other sales for a bluee eyed twin to this doll. I gladly combine items.
