Guaranteed to be original and as described -- Antique 17th century Japanese EDO Period 1600's arita/Hizen ware hand painted with underglazed blue sake wine bottle ( could be used now as a vase ). The painting is typical of the Edo period works in porcelain in Japan and this example is the best that I have seen. A similar example as far as color goes can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of art under works of art /1975.268.477. This is a important and fine example that is quite rare indeed.....SIZE: 8 1/2 inches high by 5 inches at the widest part........CONDITION : Very good condition, there are no cracks or repairs, just some very minor wear and scratches in a few places, nothing detracting. There is a chip that can be seen on the foot ( bottom) along with the remains of a old collections label. Any white streaks you see are from the glares of light and the camera and is not damage of any kind ...........(see photo's )........
