This is an Apr 26, 1865 letter from "Uncle Charlie" complaing of the after war hardships living in Rapidan Virginia. He talks of the ruination of his life and farm due to the war, being under the lash and galling yolk of the "National Masher", paying Internal External $ Eternal Taxes and all the things he's doing to survive..
