Antique 1870s Conta & Boehme Porcelain Tobacco Jar Kaiser Wilhelm German Emperor For Sale
Antique 1870s Conta & Boehme Porcelain Tobacco Jar Kaiser Wilhelm German Emperor
An interesting antique figural tobacco jar in the form of Kaiser Wilhelm I.The jar is exceptionally well made with a very realistic face and lots of details. It is unmarked but the model is attributed to a German factory Conta & Boehme that was in business between 1850-1914 approximately and didn't mark its figurines until the late 1870s. This tobacco jar was probably designed to commemorate the proclamation of Wilhelm I as German Emperor in 1871.
Height: 11" (28cm)
Condition: there are cracks and restorations to the lower part of the jar, please refer to the photos.
