AntiqueBenjamin Harrison Indian Peace medal, dated 1889. The medal looks to be made of copper. Hangs on a necklace of leather, brass beads and small cone shaped beads that are possibly bone.Front reads \"Benjamin Harrison President 1889\". The back reads \"Peace\" with a farmer talking to an indian above a crossed peacepipe and tomahawk.
Measuresapprox. 3\" x 2.25\" x 3/8\" thick. The necklace is apprx 12\" long, doubled up.
I see many on line that appear to be reproductions. But this looks to be the real deal, and that the necklace may be indian made.Purchased at a very high end LA estate sale as part of a collection of peace medals, that had been appraised a number of times over the years by very reputable appraisers. However was not given the appraisals when I purchased them.
Condition is as seen in the pictures.
