Rare museum quality antique 1890s dark indigo blue printed silk Victorian dress in near mint condition! Styled with a cutwork lace collar and tightly gathered pleats, velvet bow accents and puffed leg of mutton (gigot) sleeves. Fully boned bodice lined in cotton with an inner grosgrain waist band. Hook and eye closures down center bodice concealed by a gathered vertical piece that closes with hook and eyes at velvet waistband.The floor length skirt has an elongated gathered center back, closes with an eye/hook and is fully lined with brown polished cotton with a starchier cotton around inner hemline. Truly a magnificent set from the late Victorian period.
