Here for your consideration is an exquisite and extremely rare, antique Victorian, 1884, novelty, silver repousse, horse-racing, vesta case, depicting three racehorses battling for the finish line in front of the main stand with trees and grass in the foreground.

This is as good as it gets with regards to novelty repousse horse-racing vesta cases. There areplenty of vesta cases out there, but how manyof these have you seen. An extremely rare find indeed, I\'ve only got one, once it\'s gone .... it\'s gone. You might never findanother one like this, and if there\'s one thing I\'ve learned about antiques, when items are of quality and extremelyrare he who hesitates usually loses out.

It features delightful, finely engraved, high relief, repousse workmanship, bearing the WM maker\'s mark in an oblong cartouche for William Neale, lion passant, anchor Birmingham assay mark, and a gothic date letter \'u\' in a chamfered cartouche for 1884.

A beautiful example of a novelty vesta case by one of the very best Victorian silversmiths. Considering this exquisite novelty silver repousse vesta case is 132 years old itsin very good condition, with no denting, repairs or damage. It does have some beautiful silver age related patination, commensurate with 132 years of age, but nothing unusual.

They specialised in boxes, cigar and cigarette cases, clocks, condiments, dressing sets, flasks, goblets, match book holders, mugs, napkin rings, pencils, purses, salvers, sauce boats, sovereign cases, spoons, tea services, trophies and vesta\'s.
