DESCRIPTION: A rare antique, French Louis XVI 18th century mother of pearl, sterling silver folding fruit knife with 14k yellow gold banding and rosettes around each rivet on the handle, bands on each end are gold as well. There is a small release mechanism on the back.MARKS: Outlined E dot B under a star, along with other marks like a crown over a letter, a small animal head, a script charge mark for Orleans (1775-1781) and a small indecipherable mark near the join, all marks in a vertical row. All marks from the 1700\'s in France.APPROX. MEASUREMENTS: a little under 7 3/4\" open. Blade about 3 1/2\", closed a little over 4 1/4\".WEIGHT: 26.2 gramsCONDITION: Antique, a very old crack across the MOP handle near the joint, part of the crack is under the MOP, the smaller portion of the crack is on the exterior, this measures about 3mm.
