This sale is for a Rare Antique18th CenturyPutti Figurine circa 1750 - 1800.

The figurine measures approximately 5 3/4 inches high.

Thefigurineis marked on the bottom with collection stickerfromthe MacHarg Collection.

Thefigurine has suffered some damage over the years -including multiple chips, a glued repair to one of the birds in the nest and it appears that the base was broken off and reglued just above the putti\'s feet - please see close-up photos.

The figurine exhibits three dirty looking circles onits base - for those possibly not as familiar withthe earlyfigurines, please read the following quote from \"How to Identify Old China\" by Mrs. Willoughby Hodgson page 69 - \"...figures are generally marked by three \'thumb marks\', or dirty looking patches also made by the tripod. These \'thumb marks\' and blisters are often a help to identification, as like the productions of many other early factories, much Chelsea china was unmarked.\"

Again, for those not so familiar with old Chelsea, they made a number of figurines in this style but different sizes and oftenholding different items i.e. grapes or flowers; however, I should mention that a fellow er believes this is an Antique (circa 1780 - 1800) Derby figurine.
