Early dovetailed copper still nearly identical to one pictured on page 103 of \"Collector\'s Illustrated Encyclopedia of The American Revolution\" by Neumann/Kravic. Dented with some separation along bottom, good patina overall but undoubtedly polished a few times in its lifetime. The description from the book reads, \"A small portable copper still; apparently the mash was added and slung on the back or carried in a wagon where the motion during the day hastened its fermentation. In the evening the stopper was removed and a wooden plug with a hole inserted. A copper coil was then entered into the hole and the whole unit placed in a fire. As the distillation began a cup would catch the daily yield of beverage\". It is approx 9.5\" tall. Last pic is from the book. Any questions please ask
