Let me start by stating, I am in no way a doll expert so I will do my best to describe this doll as accurately as possible. Please feel free to ask questions. Beautiful circa 1910's Gebruder Heubach Dainty Dorothy doll. This pretty little girl features a wonderful bisque head, open mouth w/upper teeth, pretty blue glass sleep eyes. Her head is marked Gegruder Heubach,Germany. It appears to have a "5 1/2" mark at the midway point. I pull the wig up a bit but found no mold number or other marks. It may be there but I don't want to remove the wig. Her Auburn wig with long spiral curls appear to be the original. The head is extremely nice with no chips, cracks, scuffs or repairs. One eyelid has a very small spot but I believe this is a spot of dirt that could be removed. Overall height is 20"
The body features kid leather, composition hands and feet, jointed at the hips, knees, shoulders and elbows. Her little hands appear to be nice with no chips or cracks. The feet look good with only a small chip on the one big toe. Limbs are need of a gently cleaning. She retains her original tag/label marked as follows; "Dainty Dorothy" Germany, Copyright 1910 by the Sears Roebuck and Company.
Her clothing may in part be original. Her stockings and undergarment/bloomers appear be original but I can't be positive. Her dress, slip and shoes are later replacements (dress home made). Please take a moment to enlarge the photo's for a closer look.
