This is an antique early 20th century cast iron bird cage hook. It can also be used for a plant or hanging lamp.

Though you can\'t see it in the photos, it looks like it\'s marked 2-4-14 on one side and V M on the other side near the screw.

It measures 10 inches long (25.4 cm).

I believe the bird has berries or leaves in its mouth.

The piece was originally painted black. There is some loss to this paint and scattered surface rust and wear. Some of the paint has worn off the bird itself. There are some scattered paint drippings on it. The screw is a little crooked.

It\'s a very solid and sturdy hook.

It weighs a little under 5 ounces (132 g).
