Antique 19c Chikanobu Japanese Woodblock Print Samurai Visiting Mother Triptych For Sale
I recently acquired an extensive antique Chinese/Asian collection. I am now listing the woodblock prints and art portion of this estate collection. Many rare woodblock prints from the one owner estate.
Up for sale is an original antique Japanese triptych 3 panel woodblock print by Chikanobu Yoshu Toyohara dating from the late 1800's. Title is "Young Samurai visiting her mother in hiding". This is a three panel triptych woodblock print. Marked with the publisher and artist mark. Great detail and colorful image. Woodblock print is in very nice original condition with no tears, no repairs, some edge wear, remains of paper on the rear, no water damage, no folds and no major creases. Has no tape residue and has never been framed. The edges and corners have normal wear from age. The color is very nice. The panels have been attached and can easily be separated if desired. This was done years ago. Measures approx. 28 1/2 inches by 13 7/8 inches. Very rare woodblock print and would look great framed. Found safely stored away for years at a recent 95 year estate of along time collector and from a smoke free home.
