Antique 19th C Civil War Era EARLY OBSTETRICAL FORCEPS Medical Tool

Antique 19th C Civil War Era (estimated to be from 1850-1870s - not certain of exact age) EARLY OBSTETRICAL FORCEPS Medical Tool. In overall antique as-found condition with old patina and a nice cross-hatching design on the handles - they do not appear to be signed. The tool may have had plating at one time but is now has the wonderful age-worn look of old metal- most likely cast steel or iron. We are not medical tool specialists so cannot tell you much about the design or what model they are or even how they were used. We are listing another antique medical tool that we think is another form of forcep but are not sure- please take a look. The forceps measure approximately 17.5\" in length and are approx 3.25\" wide at widest point.
