An antique Meiji periodJapanese okimono figure, hand carved from ox bone, and dating to the late 19th century c.1890.
The figure has lost a lower arm / sleeve, and although it displays well,it is being sold as damaged & As Found (although I still accept returns if you don't like it)
The okimono is of a Japanese Lady in traditional dress and has been finely hand carved with fine detailing. The base has a carved leaf design - Please see all photos and click to enlarge.
Condition : The lady has losther right arm & sleeve (photo 12), otherwise good with a couple of age related surfacehairlines to the rear. There is a small (original) hole to the lower r/h side where something would haveprobably been attached ?
Thefiguresits approx 2 5/8" / 6.6cm high.
