This early copper weathervane ia rather primitively made. Two sheets of copper with soldered seams. Not completely full bodied as it is a little thinner than a real chicken.
Made in the late 1800s. It has been outside in use for quite a while and has acquired a pleasent green verdigris.
The two pieces of sheet copper has been hand hammered with details including tail and body feathers.
About 19 inches long overall, 16 inches from top to bottom. Hollow and about 2 inches thick.
Condition: Some wear but no missing pieces or repairs. Wire hanging loop was added. Minor denting. Just honest signs or useage but no significant flaws.
