~ Antique Victorian Handstitched Silk Sewing Needle Book ~ AAFA ~

Gorgeous hand stitched silk needle book, fabricated from a combination of

3 different fabrics: a bright silk taffeta plaid, a wavy jacquard moire,

and a stripe moire. Truly a small jewel of a sewing tool,

created with much love and attention to detail.

Inner purse is lined with the stripe moire, and all of the edges

are whip stitched. Has a hook closure to a hand stitched eye.

Contains 2 wool pages, and a small paper notebook.

Circa: 1870

Condition:

VERY GOOD

No loose threads.

There is wear to the silk along outside fold lines,

most notable on outer corners.

Some darkening, spotting, and discoloration to outer silk cover.

Wear to silk where hook meets eye.
