……Measuring 9 ¾” by 8” by ¾” thick, the antique 19th century notebook in this sale originally belonged to the members of the “Orange County Clay Club.” To give you an idea of the purpose of this Book, and this Club, here is a transcript of the first page:

“Orange County Clay Club No 1.

We the undersigned hereby constitute ourselves a club by the above name and agree to be governed by the following articles of membership req.

Art 1st

We will do all in our power by honorable means to promote the election of Henry Clay to the next Presidency.

Art 2nd

We will meet for the purpose above and to promote the success of the Whig cause in the various towns in said county at least once in each month until the next Presidential Election – the first meeting to be at Boutarills Hotel on the 2nd Tuesday of January next at one Oclk. PM

Art 3rd

We will at our meetings be governed by the following officers reg: A president & one or more vice presidents to be chosen at each meeting. A standing recording clerk, who shall call each meeting to order and preside at the same until a president be chosen and a corresponding secretary.

Packages are usually shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment (excluding Saturday/Sunday) and most times are shipped out within 24 hours! Every package is sent with full insurance.

Most freight items are shipped via UPS Ground, however some are too large and will be shipped via SEKO Worldwide. Also, some freight items are too large for us to pack safely and so we send them to Providence Pack & Ship to be professionally packed. Please be sure to e-mail us for a quote so that you know how much this is going to cost before offerding.

US Buyers: Shipping costs for most items can be determined by the shipping calculator in the sale (Please view details below about calculator) and are shipped via UPS ground.  If you prefer USPS this is also an option.  If you prefer USPS, please contact us and we will make arrangements.   Any item that sells for over $250 must be sent with signature required.

International buyers:  Please be aware that you may incur a brokerage and/or customs fee upon delivery. Winning buyer is responsible for shipping & customs charges. We reserve the right to choose the carrier based on shipping method selected at time of payment. Any item that sells for over $250 will be sent Express Mail with FULL insurance. If you win more than one sale in which the items can safely be shipped together, we will send you a combined invoice.
