Antique 19thc Stoneware Decorated Lw Fenton St Johnsbury Vt 1 1/2gal Crock Rare For Sale
We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Slip Trailed Cobalt Blue Decorated L.W. Fenton ST. Johnsbury VT 1 1/2 Gallon Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with 1 very slight hairline behind the 1 handle and the same handle has a chip to the underside of it. The crack is on the inside of the crock as well. There is some very minor exfoliation to the salt glaze on the back of the crock. There is minor wear to the albany brown glaze around the inner rim. There are no other chips, cracks, and or repairs. We guarantee 100% the crock is 100% structually sound and you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition of this rare crock. The crock measures 10 1/4" tall x 6 1/4" at the mouth x 8 1/4" wide x 7 3/4" at the base and weighs approximately 7lb 40z. The crock is marked L.W. FENTON. ST. JOHNSBURY.VT 1 1/2 all impressed with cobalt blue. The crock has a lovely center bright cobalt blue slip trailed design with 2 applied ear handles. The crock has an inner rim like a wax sealer or butter churn. A great rare example of LW Fenton Vermont stoneware dating from the 1860's that would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
