ANTIQUE 23” BLACK HAIR CHINA HEAD DOLL NAMED “ETHEL” Here is a lovely large antique shoulder head china doll; she is named Ethel. Her black hair is worn in the lowbrow style of the 1890’s and there are a few head rubs in the back, which are simply normal wear and tear for a doll of this age. Her face is beautifully painted with black single stroke eyebrows, blue eyes, black lash and red lid lines, gently blushed cheeks and closed coral mouth. The shoulder plate is molded as the blouse yoke with gold trim edging the collar and her name “Ethel”. The back of the plate is marked Patent App’d For, Germany. There are four attachment holes that are attached to the firmly stuffed cloth body. The waist is narrow, the hips are wide and she is able to sit well. The lower arms and legs are china. Her hands are slightly cupped. The legs have fat calves and wear high black boots with heels. She is dressed in the correct style but the wrong fabrics. Contemporary fabrics were used rather than antique textiles, but they are in good condition and could serve, as a pattern should new owner wish to redress her in correct period fabrics. DOMESTIC SHIPPING & HANDLING: Expedited shipping is available - contact me directly for details/pricing. Postage is for 48 contiguous states (additional postage is due for Alaska, Hawaii and the territories). I ship via USPS priority mail, however since there is such a wide range of fees from east to west coast, if an item is very large and/or heavy, it may be shipped parcel post. Breakable items will have insurance included in postage and handling fee and most items will have delivery confirmation; the tracking number will be posted on once the item is shipped. I ship on Tuesday and Friday and sometimes in between, I try to ship within 24 hours of receipt of payment. Multiple purchases will be combined whenever possible.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:Whenever possible your item(s)n will be shipped via First Class International. Insurance is not available with that option. Should you wish to have the item insured, or if it exceeds the weight for First Class, the item will ship Priority International and the fee includes insurance. All International sales are payable with Paypal – no other payment method is acceptable. Please note: Delays in delivery mostly occur at buyer’s local customs office where packages are required to clear. Items leave the USA within hours of posting.
