Fads come and go. What was “hot” last year, is now so very yesterday, but some objects rise above our fickle whims. Quality workmanship combined with simplicity of form is always in demand. This untouched bowl from the Arts & Crafts era is a good example.
It is 7 ½” in diameter at the top and rests on a 4 ½” basin foot. It weighs a little under a pound, so you can tell it is made of heavy gauge copper.
I have a special gift I’ve never mentioned. It is evident in the next image.
After I carried everything outside, things I wanted to photograph this morning, from an apparently cloudless sky it started to rain. So ignore the droplets of water. They are simply evidence that I have the uncanny ability to cure droughts.
The only markings I see are two “3’s.” I doubt the maker was named “3.” It was likely his nickname. (In other words, I haven’t a clue.) . . .

By any other name would smell as sweet." ~ Juliet Capulet
More images and commentary continue below my three "Prime Directives:"
1st: I never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and rarely do I ask for an opening offer of more than $9.00 (sometimes even less).
2nd: I never end sales early.
3rd: I don’t usually clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around with anything. I push enough dust aside to expose any flaws, but if I discovered it in some dusty attic, you can look forward to a little dust on it when it gets to your house. If it has a flaw or a wart, I'll tell you about it.
So rest easy and have some fun.
In profile, I can’t help but think “medieval.” Is that just me? Could be I’ve seen a painting someplace, and an image stuck in my brain. Please forget I even mentioned it . . . unless you know of some basis for my association.
My preferred method of payment is PayPal.
