BEST OFFERS ARE ABSOLUTELY AND SERIOUSLY WELCOME!
This is a small, turn of the 20th century American Majolica ceramic flask known as a "whiskey nip" or "giveaways."
Such giveaways were made to be just the right size to offer one or two "nips" of the merchant or pubkeeper's whiskey, as a sample.
This nip is a small flask, measuring approxiately 3.75 inches high and 3 inches across at its widest point. It is½ inch deep.
On the front is a raised brown image of the American eagle with three arrows clutched in its talons.
The back has no design, other than the same glazed, green pattern on the front and the bottom.
The bottom of the flask has the number 1043 embossed on it.
It has what I believe to be a tin screw top and smooth lip so that a cork may be used for closure.
Although I am not an expert by any means, I am perfectly willing to answer any questions as well as send any further pictures as requested.
