Antique Genuine \"AMERICAN RAILWAY EXPRESS\" Sign,

During World War I, the United States Railway Administration took over the nation\'s railroads. Under the USRA, the four companies were consolidated as American Railway Express, Inc.,

Here is a sign with that history and it is one which is not in perfect condition but shows the wear from it\'s use and age.

This sign is a long rectangularwood panel with the original molding. (Measures @ 72 X 10 inches)

On the back it has a American Railway Express shippinglabel and is Marked with the # 727 impressed in it. Not sure what the number is for but with it you may even be able to find out which location this sign was originally used at.

The gilt lettering on the black textured background give this sign a sign hasdefinitelybeen used. It has spots of missing paint and spots where other paint has been splashed on it. The frame molding has areas of damage and is missing at the one end.

Again the piece is not in perfect condition but has wear from use which gives it a great antique/ vintage look.

I know this is not an unheard of piece but it is one that is just not available very often so look it over and offer accordingly as this is the only one I have (or likely will ever have) and once the sale is done it will be sold and gone.
