Antique Ansonia Rosalind Enameled Cast Iron Mantel Clock- Great Cond, Working For SaleOffered here is an antique black enameled cast iron mantel clock, the "Rosalind" model by the Ansonia Clock Company of New York.
Dating to about 1900, this clock features bronze colored cherubs and ornate trim around a porcelain open escapement dial with gold painted accents on the case .The cast iron case is in wonderful original condition with very few marks, no dings or repairs and virtually no gold paint loss.There is a small section of paint loss on the left back side (see pics).The finish appears to be original on both the paint and the bronze trim and figures.The beveled glass and brass bezel are in excellent condition with expected patina from ageand there two small bruises on the very edge of the glass around 2 and 3 that can bee seen at the right angle (see the last pic).The movement is running well and chiming properly with a half hour strike and hour count on a coiled gong.
It is an 8 day all brass movement and it is stamped with Ansonia Clock Company name and logo.Everything looks to be original and complete.It comes with the pendulum and a two ended key.
Measurements are 15 1/4" wide x 12 1/4" tall x 4 7/8" deep. The face is 5" in diameter.This is a super clock in excellent condition that displays wonderfully.
I strive to report all known conditions of the clocks I sell but I do not service them, so even when working, a routine cleaning service is recommended at some point.That being said, it is sold as found and may need some adjustment after shipping.Packaging will include double boxing to insure safe travel.
