Antique Art Nouveau Mirror Compact, Locket,

Medallion, c1900

Stunning and very elegant, antique mirror compact i.e. pendant,

probably dating from 1900 to 1910.

Both sides have a beautifully raised pattern of delicate mistletoe sprigs

and berries in the typical Art Nouveau style.

The pendant slides open, to reveal a facetted mirror enclosed on each side.

The clasp is tight and closes well.

This would be an absolute eye catcher, worn as a nostalgic pendant on a long chain,

but also a fantastic and very useful accessory for a ladies handbag or purse.

Excellently crafted and highly detailed work – it would be a wonderful gift and

certainly a very fine addition to an antique collection!

Size (without jump link): 6.5 x 4.1 x 1.2 cm

Weight: 47.8 g

Composition: silver plated

Condition: this is in very good condition, with only

small signs of use, commensurate with age.

Very tiny nicks and some faint surface scratches, but no damage, dents or dings.

Light, but hardly noticeable silver loss to some of the raised leaves

and a small scratch to one side (see photo6).

Both mirrors are perfectly useable, despite the small spots around the edges.

The attached chain shown on some photos isn’t of any value (metal ?),

but will be included, if it should prove to be of any use.

The medallion has been gently polished with a soft cloth and retains its lovely patina.
