Antique Baseball Trophy Dieges Clust Spalding Lake County Indiana Black Oak Gary For Sale
This is a Wonderful Antique SPALDING BASEBALL TROPHY. It dates to the 1920's and its a BigOne! Itmeasures 15 3/4 inches by 11 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches! It is made of white metal (?) on an inch and a half tall wood base. It has an embossed baseball on the front criss crossed by two ball bats. It is embossed; LAKE COUNTY BASEBALL ASSOCIATION - TOURNAMENT WON BY BLACK OAK - SPALDING TROPHY. It has a circularSpalding Seal that is also on the ball that reads; A. G. SPALDING & BROS. TRADE MARK, MADE IN U.S.A. It also has a metal tag that reads; MADE BY D & C DIEGES & CLUST. It looks like it may have been plated or painted at one time, there are remnants remaining. It has cracks around the baseball players ankles, (as seen in my photos, looks like they may be typical of this metal aging? The legs are obviously well enforced because it is still tight inspite of these. Feel free to ask questions if I havn't answered them.
