This is a pre-owned antique gold over solid silver miniature. (it has no hallmark, but it has been tested, so i can guarantee this piece was made in solid silver). All specialists i had consulted said this is the most detailed horse miniature they have seen in their lives. You can see even teeth !!! So i assume it is impossible to find a 7.5 centimeters horse with this incredible quality (see its carved anatomy). Condition and style indicate it has been made on XIX century (between 1860 to 1890). Simply amazing. I challenge everybody to show me a most detailed horse that this one (with same size) and you will see it is an impossible mission . Please see detailed pictures and consider the height of this scared horse (excluding onyx base) is only 3 inches (a little less, only 7.5 centimeters). It face (excluding horsehair) has only 0.2/3 inches (a little less, only 1.5 centimeters). An excited horse because there is a near snake between trunks and stones. The height of the trunk is only 2 inches (5 centimeters). The rope between trunks and horse has been redone. I prefered do not plated again this piece and do not replace the onyx base (it has some details, as you can see on pictures) to preserve its authenticity. The total weight is1.14 pounds (516 grams - of course including base).Total height is 3.2/3 inches including base (9.5 centimeters).All defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.
