Description

Delicate and ornate Chinese Export silver cloissone butterfly brooch. The brooch is marked silver which dates it to between 1890 and 1920. Around 1890, the hallmarks on sterling imports out of Hong Kong seems to have changed to the word "silver" stamped onto sterling pieces. Then around 1920 China\'s sterling export hallmarks again changed to either "Sterling" or the modern 925 mark. The brooch has a beautiful gold wash on the filigree and is cloissone enameled in shades of blue and a deep red. There is a very small area where the blue enamel has worn on the right wing but this is still a beautiful and very old brooch.

It measures 1.75" and other than the noted slight enamel loss is in very good condition.

Vintage designer signed TRIFARI Pat Pending Rhinestone Choker Necklace and matching screwback earrings. The necklace was designed by Alfred Philippe for Trifari and is design patent #164,716 granted on October 2, 1951. (see photo). The necklace features a large faceted ruby red tear drop stone embellished with clear navettes anmd small rounds. The earrings are screwback and match the design of the center drop on the necklace.

The necklace measures 16" and the screwback earrings measure 1.25". The set is in good condition - you may wish to give the reverse a gentle cleaning but the set is in good condition.
