Antique Chinese Guangxu Period Porcelain Soup Spoon-iron Red Ground-nr:
Up for offer is a hand painted Chinese porcelain spoon with an iron red ground, likely Guangxu or early Republic period. The spoon is 5 3/8 inches long and 1 ¾ inches wide. The interior has a Buddhist treasure symbol in colored enamels on a painted iron red ground. There are rough spur marks on the back. It bears a rubber-stamped four character mark in a square in overglaze iron red. The final character is zao, or “made”

Condition on the spoon is fairly good. There is one small rim chip on the side, some stray iron red on the back from the manufacture, and minor wear to the enamels. A fine little Chinese porcelain spoon!
