Up forsale is a recent find from a large collection of Turquoise pieces acquired at sale, an Antique Art Nouveau English RARE Natural Persian Fully Hand Engraved Turquoise 9k Solid Rose Gold Ring Dating to Chester England in 1909 in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. The Art Nouveau movement was a short lived yet dramatically recognizable period from 1895 to 1915.This eraproduced some of the most sought-after collectibles in the world today. Popular themes in art nouveau jewelry were organic patterns that were based on natural forms and often featured flowers, plants, insects, or birds. This ring is fully engraved with floral themes featuring rosettes and leaves. This Art Nouveau English 9k Solid Rose Gold ring is set with a Fantastic 16.5x11mm RARE Natural Persian Turquoise Gemstone. This high quality Persian turquoise is a RICH BLUE COLOR. Persian Turquoise of the highest quality with no markings or matrix is called Angushtari and has been mined in Iran formerly known as Persia for over 5,000 years. The finest quality turquoise in the world comes from the mountainous range near the district of Nichapur, Iran. This area has been mined for centuries and most Persian Turquoise has been marketed at Mashhad and exported to Russia and India in the past centuries. Prior to World War I turquoise was Iran’s most important industry with over one hundred turquoise mines. After World War II the output declined and almost ceased after the revolution.The luster on this turquoise is superb. This is all natural Turquoise that is not color enhanced in any way and is guaranteed as such. This Turquoise isa FlatOval Cabochon Cut. Cabochon refers to a gemstone that has been shaped and highly polished instead of being faceted. This Persian Turquoise Gemstone is in PERFECT PRISTINE FLAWLESS CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, scratches or cracks. This ring is fully hallmarked in the interior (see photo #10) The hallmarks are as follows(date letter J with the proper font and shape for 1909) with the proper Chester England assay mark (Three wheatsheaves with sword) There is also a makers mark of \"EV\"This Solid 9k Rose Gold Setting has niceHand Engraved & Milgrained details on the shoulders and around the entire band. The detail on this Antique ring is exquisite. Milgrain details look so beautiful, appealing and interesting because the beaded pattern is able to make the area resemble the edge of a coin. A specialized jeweler\'s hand tool is used to create interesting texture that is said to resemble tiny beading or embroidery. This ring is not a deep colored rose gold or a bright yellow gold so we are calling it a very light colored rose gold. Photo #11 shows this ring next to a yellow gold ring to give you an idea of the shade of this 9k rose gold. The darker oil slick colored finish in the grooves andengraved areas of the ring is the natural patina of the ring that only comes with age. We only lightly polished the ring and did not remove this patina.
