Antique Child's Tunbridge Ware Pin Cushion
English * Circa 1870
acorn shaped pin cushion has stickware mosaic designs on the top that
are made from several different
naturally colored woods. It was made
in Tunbridge Wells
in the county of Kent, England in the mid Victorian era. It has a red
silk cushion (original).
The wood is in excellent condition with no missing marquetry or other damage. The cushion is also in great condition. It measures 3/4" in diameter. It was once in the collection of Diane Pelham Burn and this is the piece that was photographed in the top plate on p. 12 of her book Sew Precious, Children's Needlework Tools & Dolls' Sewing Tools.
