Antique Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Millefleurs Large Flower Vase c1910
This is for an antique Chinese cloisonne enamel millefleurs large flower vase, circa 1910. The vase of tapering baluster from with a short trumpet neck, with a bronze rim and a gilt-bronze base, (the base drilled for conversion to a lamp). The sides are decorated with a colourful cloisonne enamel 'millefleurs' or 'thousandflowers' pattern, with a concentric ruyi border around the upper rim, vertical bands of styalised lotus flowers, on a ground of flowers and foliage. The enamels are shaded within gilt-copper cloisonnes, and have a semi-translucent glass like quality. This vase is unsigned / unmarked. It measures 21.3 cm in height and 12.0 cm in width. It weighs 823 grams. The condition is generally excellent, without damage or repair, the enamel is near perfect, with light surface wear, there are no chips, cracks, or dents, the bronze rim has the patina of age.
