Antique Chinese Qing Silk Kesi Lady's Robe Yardage For Sale
Very rare antique Chinese late Qing Dynasty lady's silk tapestry kesi (K'o-SSu) robe yardage (incomplete and made into a kimono), featuring peony flowers woven with golden and silver gilt threads, with the flower contours and leaf veins in blue threads, against a coral red ground, with yellow edges. Unlined. Together with a sash made of same textile.
Late 19th to early 20th century.
Condition: Excellent condition, minor splits under armpit and a few loose threads at edges.
Measurements: cuff to cuff 146cm, armpit to armpit 73cm, collar to hem 130cm. Sash is about 210cm long.
