Antique Chinese Qing Imperial Consort's Turquoise Silk Robe, Fine Embroidery,19c:
Up for sale is a rare antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Manchu informal silk robe made foran imperial consort's,3rd rank and below; first half of 19th century, turquoise green ground embroidered with 8 peony roundelsworked withfloss silks and Peking knots, andtogether with the dark blue ground horse-hoof cuffs and elbow stripes; 5 ball-and-loop toggle buttons each carved with unique symbol; and backed with pink silk lining.
The robe is in good condition; alteration to waist & bottom at one time, probably in the early 20th,with added embroideires around the orignial roundels; light stainings in front & back; still anice obe with very intricate embroideries.
Measurements : Top collar to bottom hem 45", Sleeve to sleeve 68" across top, sleeve width 13", width between arm pits 29" narrowest, width of hem 40" widest, roundel diameter 12".
