An Antique Rope Bed..... I am guessing it dates to around the Civil War..... But could be much earlier...... Made of Walnut..... with the original non-finish....... looking at the bed closely I do not see any indications of paint.... schellac or any other covering..... Super patina from natural ageing of the Walnut Wood....... It is exedeenly rare to find one of these old masters that has not been touched......... could use some cleaning as the bed was stored in a barn for who knows how many years..... from the Appalachia area of southern Ohio.... where they used to and still put unwanted or no longer needed items in the barn....... many of these farms have been in the same family for many many generations.........the bed has posts that are 48 inches tall...... measures 53 1/2 inches across and is 75 3/4 inches long...... the side rails are 21 inches above the floor...... the end rails screw into the head and foot board......... super turned posts and spindals....... Please look at the pictures closely and ask questions....... Pick-up preferred but as always shipping can be arranged...
